I do strongly support the idea that isolated people and groups, lack good understanding of their society and things going on it. They usually think that they have already found the best way to live and act and do not want to explore anymore. In artificial intelligence, agents that act in this way are called 'greedy'. Greedy agents do not explore their environment to find better payoff. A little traveling around may lead to higher earnings.
To sum up, I suggest everyone not to be isolated. You should try to accept the reality when you find it as truth, even though you were in opposition to it always before.
